In my final year at Deerfield Academy, I made a series of oil paintings to commemorate the surrounding area.
My painting teacher, Tim Engelland, helped me develop the project, which culminated in an exhibition of twenty-seven paintings and drawings at Deerfield’s Art Gallery that spring.
Two of the landscape paintings were chosen by the school to hang permanently in the lobby of its main school building, flanking its two front doors.
Six of the paintings were chosen by the school to be made into greeting cards, which continue to be sold by the school store to this day.
In 2019, I gifted the full set of original paintings to Deerfield, where they can be enjoyed by students and teachers for many years to come.
