During the Covid pandemic, I was engaged in a yearlong program of study in shamanic philosophy and practice — working with a group called The Power Path, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. At the end of the program, I designed this insignia to commemorate the cohort of which I was a part, who had adopted the totem of The Firebirds.

The insignia incorporates some of the teachings and adventures that we experienced together over the course of the year. I designed a few alternate drafts before arriving at the final version.
