Hill House / A proposed design for a house at High Acres Farm, based on two golden rectangles at 27 degree angles to one another / / Design Works · 2013
Hill House is a design for a house whose perimeter is derived by placing two golden rectangles precisely corner to corner, so they form an angle of exactly twenty-seven degrees. All its interior walls run parallel to one of these exterior edges, and its roof shape emerges as a result of this process.
I developed the design during a “tiny house” course at the Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren, Vermont, where my final presentation was featured in the 2014 film, Living Small: A Tiny House Documentary.
